compress the shock down to its bump stop; so theoretically the car was sitting at its natural height. However, being bent like that, and loaded under tension, who knows what other dynamics are at play. At the very least, because the top hat was not perpendicular to the spring perches, there had to be some side load binding within the shock tube at the seals that would affect performance.
